Travel to Vienna

The Haspburg palaces and enjoyable parks just along the banks of the gorgeous, totally clear Danube river make Vienna something worth seeing. The people of Vienna have perfected the art of relaxation or Gemtlichkeit as they say. So I ask exploit your time in this awesome city. Savor every moment. Your only in Vienna once, that is unless you determine to come back.

There are lots of activities to do in order to keep you busy, but lots of folks just want to take a look at the Hofburg Palace. I mean who wouldnt, the prancing horses, lush apartments that the Hapsburgs called home for 6 hundred years. It is definitely at the very top of the must see list. If your need you can take a horse-drawn fiaker carriage ride down to the Museum Quarter where paintings through famous artists such as Picasso lie. If your more of a romantic mode you can head over to the Belvedere palace. As night falls you might want to visit the Prater, an entertainment park that is not such as all others.

There are more than enough of hotels in which you can select from. They are all always first class places that will provide only the most cool service. Theres always transportation ready to take you wherever it is you need to go. Now in the mornings you can head over to the Naschmarkt, where you can get only the hottest of foods. Why there why do not you attempt some mouth-watering caramelized pancakes. If your in a shopping mood you can go over to the Neubau district. It is full of studios, stores and shops. Whether it be for a special day or not there’s always a reason to be well dressed in this city. You can get tickets for the opera or the Vienna Philharmonic at the Golden Hall. Pay a trip to the cry pubs or if your in a mood to party make your way to mega club Flex where some of Viennas top DJs preform.

Now you have some info on the hostels, places to shop, dine and sightsee let me tell you on some of the history of the city. Vienna is frequently described as Europes cultural capital. It is a metropolis with a special charm, eagerness and spark. Vienna is the capital of Austria and is home to over 2,000,000 folks. It lies on the banks of the Danube River. The unexpected climax of visitors from every area of has made Vienna a top holiday maker destination in Austria.

Vienna is that place you dream about. Where you can go to chill out and leave all of your troubles behind. Theres so very much more I could say, but you must experience this for yourself. It is a one of a kind place. So loosen up, get into the Vienna mood. You will never be bored in a city like this. There’ll always be something there to occupy your time. I will tell you now though, there are tonnes to do so you must better start.

Vienna has a great charm and is synonymous with music, art, culture and historic beauty and attractions. Few cities in the Earth can match up to its treasure trove of attractions like Royal palaces, fine art collections, three opera houses, 50 theatres and almost 100 museums! And with designer shopping, trendy restaurants and stylish pubs among others, youll never get bored in Vienna.
Vienna boasts some of the most romantic, opulent and historic hotels in the world. Most of them can be found in the 1st District (Innere Stadt), which is the citys Old Town and commercial heart especially along the Ringstrasse. Here, youll find some of the best hotels – almost palace like, with red velvet carpets and crystal chandeliers.
The Ringstrasse is the citys famous ring road, which is constructed alongside the old city walls. It was built by the Emperor Franz Joseph I to replace the old medieval city walls.
Along the Ringstrasse you can explore many famous buildings here like the Rathaus (town hall), the Hofburg Palace, the Natural History Museum, the State Opera House and the Museum of Art History.
The 1st District is the Innere Stadt – the core of the city centre and one of the most beautiful places to stroll around since much of it is pedestrianised. It is home to some of the citys most noteworthy attractions like St. Stephens Cathedral, the Albertina Museum, the Austrian National Library, the Imperial Treasuries (Crown Jewels) and the Stailburg (where the Spanish Riding School perform).
The Inner Stadt is also home to the fashionable Kartnerstrasse. It runs right through the district and is one of the best shopping center in the city. At one end you’ll find the State Opera House while at the other end youll see the Stephansdom – one of the nicest Gothic cathedrals youre ever likely to see!
The Inners Stadt is the citys most elegant district and is known to have the most expensive and luxury hotels.
The 2nd District is known as Leopoldstadt, which can be found across the Danube River from the 1st District. This mainly residential district is a lot quieter than the first and is the location of Prater, an exciting amusement park with a giant Ferris wheel! The Augarten Palace is also located here and was built by Emperor Joseph II at the end of the 17th century.
The 3rd District is known as Landstrasse and can be found south east of Inner Stadt. Top attractions to see in this district include the magnificent Belvedere Palace and Mozarts resting place, St Marx Cemetery.
If you want to be apart from the vibrant city centre and youre not too keen on paying a higher price then why not choose Vienna hotels in the 3rd to 8th districts. Hotels in these districts, which are located outside the Ringstrasse, are usually cheaper but are still within walking distance of the Innere Stadt.
If youre heading to Vienna and are on a budget then try to avoid times like pre-Christmas, when thousands flock to the city to explore its famous Christmas markets. New Years is also the busiest time with orchestras and concerts. Its not as busy in Vienna during the summer months and this is probably because its not opera season so you should find hotels offering good value for money.
Hotels in Vienna range from 1 star to 5 star with something to suit every taste and pocket. If youre looking for cheap hotels in Vienna then choose a 1 or 2 star hotel which are very reasonable. You can check www.123bookhotels.com to get best prices and finalize your booking online.

London Heathrow Airport is the busiest international airport in the world. Around 35percent of its passengers are transit passengers, for example passengers that are just using London to make connections. Just one reason why there’s nearly 40 airport hotels at Heathrow serving the local demand for overnight stopovers.
Well start off through dividing the hotels into three categories. There are the huge four and five star chain hotels such as Hilton, Radisson and Sheraton aimed at the businessmen, typically charging $US200 during the week, half that at weekends. Then there’s the two and three star hotels, again mostly chains, such as Comfort Inn, Ibis and Premier Travel Inn, aimed at the leisure traveller and the businessmen on a budget. These will typically charge just over $US100 during the week, about $US75 at weekends. Lastly, there’s the small independent local hotels, mostly family owned who offer inexpensive bed and breakfast style rooms. These have the least expensive accommodation.
Room rates can seem good value, especially at weekends when the businessmen are away and everyone deep discounts to fill beds. However, beware, what the hotel doesnt get in room rates theyll attempt and get out of you in other ways.
There are no hotels in the central passenger area where Terminals 1, two and three are located, though there’s a hotel linked to Terminal four on the south side of the airport – the expensive Hilton Hotel, not for most leisure travellers. This means a bus transfer, as well as unlike most international airports there’s no complimentary hotel transfer buses. The airport authority provides Hoppa Buses, mid-size buses that run every 10-20 minutes on fixed routes to Heathrow Hotels. At three GBP per person per journey, that is an extra $US20 for a couple staying at a Heathrow Hotel.
Most hotels will charge anything from $US10-$US30 for breakfast, as well as at most hotels there isnt viable competition outside the front door. Dinner is similarly expensive and entertainment is largely limited to an expensive bar.
So, tips for the leisure traveller putting forth effort to economise. Look for a hotel on the Bath Road, this is the northern perimeter road of Heathrow Airport and the main hotel strip. Public buses run more frequently than the Hoppa Buses along the Bath Road into Heathrow Terminals, as well as theyre free. (The fees from the Hoppa Buses are segment used to subsidise the free local buses). The Bath Road is the only location where you can escape your hotel. There is a pub serving meals, two McDonalds, a bowling alley, a small supermarket and an Italian Restaurant that is able to provide breakfasts, snacks and meals on the Bath Road. There are also 24 hour public buses running to local towns Kingston and Hounslow for entertainment. Taking the above together, the benchmark for the leisure traveller is the Ibis and Premier Travel Inn hotels.
The other local option is to consider local Bed & Breakfast hotels. These don’t provide an airport transfer but lots of are on the periphery of the airport on a bus or underground route. Their room rates are similar to the budget hotels but this includes a hearty breakfast and the transfer is still less expensive than the Hoppa Bus.
One other option is to forget Heathrow altogether and overnight in Central London. The Heathrow Express takes just 15 minutes to Londons Paddington Station and there’s lots of inexpensive accommodation around the station. Youll certainly have a more entertaining evening in London than at an airport hotel, as well as at a similar overall price.

Online Booking Tips

It’s midnight, and you are standing in the lobby of a small hotel in London you’ve booked on online agency. There’s no room at the hotel ,and it is your fault. You’ve booked the right day  but the wrong month.
Travelers make mistakes. They confuse dates, forget to hit the ”purchase” button, fail to read confirmations, they confuse currencies.

Common mistakes and complaints of online bookings :

• Incorrect data. Travelers input the wrong dates or misspell their names when they book online.
• Auto-filled data. Travelers register on sites that ”auto-fill” their information — not remembering that the site has a maiden name or also stores the names of other family members who use that same computer.
• Double booking. When the computer times out or the confirmation doesn’t arrive in e-mail, travelers assume the booking didn’t go through and rebook — without first calling the agency.
• No room at the inn: The hotel has no record of the booking. This sometimes happens, because a booking agency in some cases confirms with hotels via fax . . . and faxes can get lost.

TOP TIPS
• Call a human being first. Airline and travel agents may find routings and fares that aren’t loaded into the computer. The front-desk clerk at a hotel may know about vacancies that aren’t listed online or with the reservations number.
• Check dates against a calendar before you book.
• Double check names on your booking , including spellings. Names should match your passport.
• Read fine print carefully. Print it out for easier reading.
• Check policies even on items you think you understand , like room cancellation penalties at hotels .
• When booking overseas, double check to see what currency the price is in.
• If you don’t see a confirmation page or get an e-mail confirmation, call before you rebook. Your reservation may have been completed and if you book a second time, you’re stuck.
• Read your confirmation immediately. If there’s a problem, you often can change it within the first 24 hours, but not later. 90% of the errors could be spotted if people looked at the confirmations
• Consult user reviews but take them with a grain of salt.
• If you’ve booked a hotel through an online agency, follow up with a call or e-mail directly to the agency to check if there is any problem .
• If you are not sure the hotel’s location contact the customer service of the agency and make sure the exact location.

From 1914 through the 1930’s, the hot spot for jazz in Paris was old Montmartre, a section of the city in which many African-American jazz musicians lived, and the site of many legendary jazz clubs, including Le Grand Duc and Bricktop’s. Decades later, the now ritzy streets just off of theChamps-Elysees were the place to go. Today, jazz can be found all over the city, from huge public venues, to small cozy settings, to a single musician blowing jazz standards on his sax on (or under) a bridge.

If you’re looking for a good venue to enjoy jazz on your trip to Paris, here are a few options.

1. Le Duc des Lombards.

This well-known jazz club has been around for nearly 25 years, and holds a reputation for being warm, intimate and open. Top-notch musicians from around the globe play here, including Steve SwallowMichele Hendricks,Paolo Fresu. Known especially for its free jazz, you’ll be transported back to the ‘50’s and ‘60s from the first note.

42 rue des Lombards, 1st arrondissement, Paris. Tel. 01.42.33.22.88.

Admission: € 19-25, depending on the performers.

2. New Morning.

One of the most popular jazz clubs in Paris, New Morning holds about 300 people when at capacity, but still manages to have a personal vibe. In terms of décor, don’t expect anything fancy: there are only wooden folding chairs and small tables on which to place your drinks – but you’ll forget about that once the music starts. Buy your ticket in advance, if possible. The lines for tickets the night of a particular concert can get pretty long.

7-9 Rue des Petites Ecuries, 10th arrondissement, Paris. Tel: 01 45 23 56 39.

Admission: € 10, approx.

3. Café Laurent.

This low-key hotel jazz bar has yet to become a big name in Paris, but as far as I’m concerned – that’s great. This is my favorite place to kick back on a comfortable sofa, order a (really well-made) cocktail, and listen to some first-rate jazz. The Christian Brenner trio plays every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, and often invites guest musicians and vocalists from around the world to join them.

33 rue Dauphine, 6th arrondissement, Paris. Tel. 01 43 29 03 33.

Admission: No cover, just one €10 drink minimum after 9pm.

4. Parc Floral Jazz Festival.

If you are a jazz-lover and happen to be in Paris in June and July, you’ll definitely have to check out the annual Jazz Festival at the beautiful Parc Floral de Paris. There are about 1500 seats available, but why not just take a blanket, a bottle of wine and a picnic basket and listen to blissful jazz on the grass, under blue skies? Concerts take place every Saturday and Sunday in June and July, starting from 3pm.

Parc Floral de Paris, boulevard de Ménilmontant, 20th arrondissement, Paris.

Admission: €5.

5. Autour de Midi…et Minuit.

Those who want to listen to jazz on the stomping grounds of the originaljazzmen of the 1920’s and 1930’s, will enjoy this cozy club in Montmartre. Although it has not been around long – it opened in 2001 – it has made quite an impression on jazz aficionados. And with its lovely “double voutée” (double vaulted) stone ceilings, even people very into jazz must agree that the place wins top marks for atmosphere.

Weather

Many people think California vacation has sunny skies and warm weather 365 days a year, but it’s not true in San Francisco. It’s often foggy, temperatures over 80F are considered a heat wave, and the water is too cold for all but the heartiest souls at the beach. It rains in the winter, but seldom the rest of the year. April and October are two of the nicest months to vacation here. To have a comfortable vacation, check the climate for the time you plan to visit. You will probably need to pack warmer vacation clothing than you might think.

San Francisco

Geography:

Looking at a few San Francisco maps and learning how the city is laid out will help you plan your vacation and know how to get from one attraction to another. You can save yourself embarrassment, too – I once hailed a taxi in Union Square and asked to go to the Chinatown gate, which is only a few blocks away!

Things to Do in Advance for a San Francisco Vacation

Unless you want to visit an especially popular restaurant or see a specific play, this is all you’ll need to do before you come to San Francisco:

  • Reserve a hotel. If you usually vacation without advance hotel reservations, don’t try it here. San Francisco is is a popular vacation destination, and many conventions are held here. Saturday nights are the busiest hotel night in the city.
  • Don’t rent a car unless you’re planning on long side trips. Parking and driving in the city can be maddening. Take public transportation and use the money you save to get a nicer hotel room.

Technology has a dominant power on us. The rapid change in every field, affects whether directly or indirectly to each other. Lets have a look at to last decade for comparing today’s world to the previos decade. Ten years ago, world was cosuming too much time for everything, abroad travelling, domestic flights, or even going to school had taken too much time. World becomes more fast and technology “supply” people more time for leisure. At this point, leisure means, fantastic accomodation and we can “supply “ you dream vocation from 90.000 hotels that you have already hired for your future reservations, throughout the world. Just choose one and it is “one click away”. The Top destinations below, doesn’t mean a mess for you, you can choose from one star to five star, from lowest price to highest. At the previous decade, even before the internet reservation, new accomadation, new hotels meant “pandora’s box” to the travellers but now you can see even the carpets in the room, all details are in your hand. To sum, the only same thing with the previous decade is “OUR PRICES“.
